Details

This publication aims to introduce how tourism was organized in the USSR. Here are various routes, an element of which included Lake Teletskoye. Of course, our publication does not claim to provide complete coverage of all routes. This is just some part of them. The article will be expanded as new information becomes available.

From the routes of 1935

A logging road began from the Obogo forestry, leading through a small wooded pass into the valley. Following it, tourists ended their journey in, located on the shore of Lake Teletskoye opposite the village. Artybash.

From the 1984 routes

A new experimental route 377 is being introduced (counter route to 77). Route 416 starts operating again - “to Lake Teletskoye”.

There is an option for rafting along the Biya from Lake Teletskoye for unprepared tourists and experienced watermen on inflatable boats.

Tents were preserved only at the site in Chulyshman - at the southern tip of Lake Teletskoye. Here the paths of tourists of several routes intersect. For those who rest in the shelter on Chulyshman, a bicycle route has been introduced.

Russian pioneers called it Teletsky, after the name of the people who settled along its shores. The Altaians have long given it the name Altyn-Kel - Golden Lake. Even against the backdrop of the fantastic beauty of Altai, this place is unique. As an exceptional natural value it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Lake Teletskoye: description, photo, video

Cliffs and steep cliffs with giant cedar trees on the tops are the typical relief of the shoreline of the marvelous lake. There are many picturesque canyons and bays here. Fishing is excellent: there are 14 species of fish in the lake waters. Particularly valuable: grayling, whitefish, lenok, taimen. Only daredevils dare to swim here: the water, even in summer, is never warmer than 10⁰.

In the Pritelets taiga there are over 1,200 species of plants, including those famous for their healing powers: golden, maral and Maryin root. More than 70 species of mammals live here. You can meet a bear, lynx, wolverine. The owners are sable, weasel, and Altai badger.

He is often called the smaller brother. There are indeed many analogies. After Baikal, this is the second largest natural reservoir of drinking water. It contains about 40 cubic meters. km. In 6 years, the water in the reservoir is completely renewed. Its maximum depth reaches 325 m. The lake is fed by 70 rivers and streams, and the only river that flows out, like the Angara, is the Biya.

Panorama of Lake Teletskoye

Winters in the surrounding mountains are harsh, but the climate near the lake is much milder. Its southern part is the warmest region of Central and Western Siberia; the lake is rarely completely covered with ice. There is an unusual climatic phenomenon here: rocks heated by the hot sun, shrinking at low night temperatures, shoot stones into the surrounding area.

Where is Teletskoye Lake located?

The lake is located in the northeast of the Altai Mountains Republic on the territory of two districts. The northern part of the reservoir, which stretches 78 km in length, is located in the Turochaksky district, the southern part in the Ulugansky district. The place is sparsely populated. There are no cities nearby.

Nearest villages:

  • Iogach;
  • Artybash;
  • Balykcha;
  • Yailyu.

The tectonic fault, which eventually became Lake Teletskoye, is surrounded by mighty mountain spurs overgrown with centuries-old taiga:

  • Abakansky;
  • Kuraisky;
  • Shapshalsky;
  • Chikhacheva;
  • Sumultinsky;
  • Altyn-tuu (Golden Mountain);
  • Torot.

The main territory of the eastern side of the lake is under the jurisdiction of the Altai Nature Reserve.

Teletskoye Lake coordinates on the map:

  • Latitude — 51°31′45″
  • Longitude — 87°42′53″

  • Barnaul - regular buses leave towards Artybash daily;
  • Gorno-Altaisk - from here buses depart to the lake 2 times a day.

When is the best time to visit Lake Teletskoye?

Most tourists choose a comfortable summer period for their trip, when it is especially pleasant to be by the water, go fishing, take an exciting trip on a boat or ship, and see the beauty and richness of the taiga. But Lake Teletskoye is magnificent at any time of the year.

With the beginning of spring, its banks are covered with the lilac flame of wild rosemary - a sight unforgettable for a lifetime. Golden autumn until October delights with multi-colored leaves and healing air infused with the aroma of ripe pine nuts. For winter sports lovers, a ski resort has recently been opened, which few people know about yet. But they will definitely recognize and appreciate it.

Peculiarities

Almost the entire right bank is given over to one of the largest biosphere reserves in Southern Siberia - Altai. This neighborhood imposes some restrictions on tourists. It is prohibited to light fires here. Some attractions can only be visited with permission from the reserve administration.

However, they are quite loyal to travelers who comply with the laws of protected areas. Of the 7 cordons located on Lake Teletskoye, only the Kamga special peace zone is closed to visitors. And the well-known Korbu waterfall has become a real platform for environmental education. Over the summer it is visited by over 60 thousand tourists.

Lake Teletskoye has its own traditions. At the beginning of June, competitions for water tourism enthusiasts are held in Artybash, and the end of August is interesting with competitions for swimmers in cold water. On Navy Day, the Teletska Water Festival takes place here on a large scale. February 23rd became the day of the Teletskoye Snow Rally.

What to see in the area

Many waterfalls cascade into the lake from the rocks. But most of them are impossible to visit due to inaccessible rocks. The exceptions are:

  • Korbu - on sunny days he is constantly accompanied by a rainbow;
  • Kishte - with a height of 8 m, its beauty cannot be measured;
  • Chedor - according to tradition, a pebble picked here is added to the pyramid and a wish is made.

In the bay near the village. Melted stones are often found in the hearth. Local residents claim that a meteorite once fell here. Other versions talk about the collapse of a rock, the descent of a glacier. But in any case, the spectacle makes you think about the mysteries of nature.

Near the Chulcha River, another natural phenomenon surprises - rock formations that have copied the shape of mushrooms. Tourists do not leave their attention to the Poklonnaya Pine Yailya. The earth from the roots of the fallen tree was carried away by storm waves, but by some miracle the tree holds on to life for many years, allowing several branches to grow green and grow stronger.

With its aura it attracts both ordinary tourists and seekers of the meaning of life, who claim that space and time here do not obey generally accepted laws, but exist in a special, Taurus dimension, creating a unified rhythm of life for man and nature. And everyone finds their innermost here.

To visit the shores of one of the great Siberian lakes and not take a ride on its water surface is an unforgivable omission. Therefore, water excursions are a mandatory part of the program for everyone who comes to Lake Teletskoye, especially since most of the local attractions can only be reached by water.

Most tourists prefer to relax in the north of Teletskoye, and stay in the villages or. While here, you can organize a walk around the lake without any problems. Any hotel will offer several options for water excursions. In addition, local residents give tourists private rides - there is a boat in almost every yard. The choice of watercraft is very diverse, from rowing boats to modern Japanese boats and even a motor ship.

We will consider routes and prices for excursions around Lake Teletskoye using the example of options that are offered to vacationers at the hotel. This is one of the best hotels in these parts and excursions are offered here on modern boats equipped with GPS, radars, echo sounders and other navigation and safety systems.

(Hotel "Artybash")

In general, safety during water excursions on Lake Teletskoye should not be neglected. The weather sometimes changes just instantly. A storm can arise unexpectedly, and at this moment it is still better to be on board a powerful, modern boat than in a fragile boat.
